Psychological Disorders:

Psychological disorders, also known as mental disorders are mind abnormalities that cause constant behavior patterns that can affect your day-to-day function and life. There are end number of psychological disorders, which includes feeding and eating disorder, depression, personality disorder, mood disorder, sexual dysfunction, antisocial disorder, dissociative disorder, anxiety disorder, sleep-wake disorder, Neurodevelopment disorder and many more. Numerous psychological disorders may exist in one person. The exact causes of psychological disorders are not found yet, but few factors may include childhood experiences, stress, prenatal exposures, heredity and illness. There are few disorders, which occur more in women like borderline personality and depression. On the other hand, there are disorders, which are commonly seen in men like intermittent explosive disorder and substance abuse. Other disorders like bipolar disorder and schizophrenia affect men and women equally. Properly treated, people who have psychological disorders often improve. Alcohol poisoning, drug overdose, suicide and violent behavior can complicate the situation. Psychological disorders can have serious, even life-threatening, complications.
Some of the major categories of disorder include the following:
Neurodevelopment Disorders
Neurodevelopment Disorders are diagnosed during infancy, childhood or adolescence. These are the group of disorders in which the central nervous system, motor function and growth is disturbed. This disorder can affect your language, non-verbal communication, self control, affect your learning ability and memory and that unfolds as the individual grows. Few of these psychological disorders include Intellectual disability (or Intellectual Developmental Disorder), formerly referred to as mental retardation, Developmental delay, Communication disorders, Language disorder, Autism spectrum disorder, Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
Feeding and Eating Disorder
Have you ever though why some people tend to eat more than their appetite or do overeating, every time they eat food? Well, maybe they are suffering from a major disorder called Feeding and Eating disorder.
Feeding and Eating disorder include abnormal or disturbed emotions, attitudes and behaviors surrounding eating habits, weight and food issues. Eating disorders are also characterized by troublesome eating patterns that negatively affect your mental health. Though it doesn’t look like a serious disorder, but in reality this kind of disorder can create serious emotional and physical problems, which can be life threatening for both male and female. The five types of eating disorders are Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Rumination Disorder, Pica and Binge-Eating Disorder.
Sleep-Wake Disorder
Most of you must have come across people who doesn’t sleep at night or maybe sleep late at night and wakes up in afternoon. Such people are suffering from Sleep-Wake Disorder. The disruption in sleep patterns, which lead to stress and affect you daytime operations, is called Sleep-Wake Disorder. People suffering from this kind of disorder generally complaints about dissatisfaction regarding the quality, timing and amount of sleep, which results in daytime distress, irritation, laziness, tiredness and many more. This disorder may also occur due to any coexisting medical and mental disorder. Sleep-Wake Disorder is the most common Disorder nowadays. Few types of Sleep-Wake Disorders are Insomnia Disorder, Nightmare Disorder, Restless legs syndrome, Breathing related sleep disorder, Narcolepsy, Parasomnia, Hypersomnolence Disorder and others.
