LED – Leading towards the Future
Led-Light Emitting Diode

Every generation has a wonder it can take pride in and while the millennial generation already had the World Wide Web (WWW), the social networking and other innovative solutions which one classifies as great based on their taste, one other invention of previous century has a chance to shine. It is the time of LED to shine brightest.
The origins of LED, its invention and discovery are a matter of debate which cannot be solved without becoming tautological, and its use today cannot be tangled into that issue. The technology of what we today call as LED, is relatively new and has so far proven worth its price. To a lay man, LED is the technology which gives the light signal in remotes and electrical boards and now is being used in light bulbs as well as other form of lights. LED stands for Light Emitting Diode. Previously this technology of LED has been used as an indicator for the purpose of reading CD and DVDs in computers and laptops and also in case of gaming consoles. This technology also revolutionized communication by linking electronics to photonics. Primarily a conduction element, a silver colored incandescent energy is used to transmit lighting in the surrounding. The utility of LED cannot be limited by the shapes of the instrument by which light is being transmitted which only increases the uses of this technology.
What is most surprising and appreciative is the longevity of this technology which lets it be used for a period which is three times longer than any other technology at an average temperature of 20-21 degrees Celsius. The longevity is however, relative to the temperature of the environment where the LED is being used. The lower the temperature, the lesser the life time of the LED and the higher temperature, the longer the LED can be used.

LED is now being manufactured with built-in technology in a range of bulbs and lamps. While it is true that the initial investment in the LED technology is of an amount greater than anything else, it should also be noted that LED will subsist for a period longer than any other. Thus, LED might as well be the most economical solution available to humanity in the twenty first century. The industrial houses, if not residential houses can use LEDs and the increased use is bound to affect the exorbitant cost of production of this technology in near future which will make it accessible to everyone and not just wealthy class of people.

Thus, the use of LED can be technical as well as casual. The beneficiaries include individuals and their homes and also the industries engaged in production of electronic items or products for telecommunication and transmission.

The importance of LED is further underlined by the increasing threat of environmental degradation. The world is being threatened by increased levels of carbon dioxide and other gases which harm the earth’s atmosphere. Phenomenon of global warming, acid rains and harmful ultra violet rays have created a rage among the aware and sensitive to look for solutions which are better suited to our needs. The LEDs, in this background, provide an overall sustainable solution to the threat which is posed by other electronic advancements. LEDs limit wastage of energy and thus last longer, saving and increasing the much needed resources of our planet. Thus, it can be labeled as the future of our green campaign which is being joined in huge numbers by people of all age from all walks of life.

Thus, LED is a sustainable choice for those who are looking for an investment which proves to be greatly beneficial and are also concerned about their environment and want to contribute to a healthy earth, now and in future.
