OK Google now compatible with third-party apps
It feels good to know that Google’s voice command service ‘OK Google’ is now ready to work with third party applications. However it’s not compatible with all the third-party apps yet but just the few essential ones which partnered with Google to make this feature a reality. Those partners include NPR One, TuneIn, Zilloww, Trip Advisor and Flixster. For illustration, now you can simply say ‘OK Google I want to listen TuneIn right now. Likewise you can say ‘Ok Google show me nearest restaurants on Trip Advisor.
We can’t call it a giant leap but just a step towards development by Google’s voice command service, their arch rival Apple has already started to progress in this project with Siri while it’s just start for Android. The OK Google voice service is compatible with nine languages namely English, Italian, French German, Russian, Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish and Korean. Google has released a single API which is compatible for the entire Android device irrespective of being a tablet, Smartphone or wearable.
This is a very essential step from Google which will make things a lot easier for users. The advancement in the voice command technology can change the face of Smartphone use, the users might be able to chat through voice commands in feature but it’s just the concept and currently ground reality is that Google isn’t yet even able to invoke a chatting app via voice commands.
