Apps with Google dependency being switched to Microsoft services in Project Astoria
It’s factual that Microsoft is doing every possible thing to make Windows 10 as the biggest platform update ever in their history by gathering up developers for making all the apps present in IOS and Android Platforms available in Windows 10 OS. But this thing isn’t going to be buttery smooth for Microsoft; there is a huge count of applications on Android which need Google maps integration. Thus developers will need to use Microsoft’s own Bing services in apps but it isn’t appropriate considering world wide availability of OS, Bing maps even after coupled with Here Maps will not be able to compete against the highly updated databases of Google Maps.
Thus, Microsoft needs to make a way out of this problem and this thing is taken into account by Microsoft under Project Astoria which will ensure replacement of Google services on Apps with Microsoft services. It is the case will all the operating system, every OS builder wants to use their own services for own ecosystem whether it’s about Android or IOS however IOS isn’t strictly making users to rely on their services. It’s also known that Android and IOS have already set up their ecosystem neatly while as Microsoft is talking some kind of short path of reach the goal which makes them highly prone to fall in pits instead of getting successful.
