Being yellow or orange fruit apricot belongs to the family which is known as Rosacea prunus. Though the fruit is small in size, it is covered with velvet like skin which smooth and soft to touch. This fruit can be consumed either in fresh or in dried condition. The nutritional value remains unchanged in the both conditions. This fruit is most popularly used as a food substance in the following countries: North America, South America and New Zealand etc. It is recently reported that the fruit has enough capability to provide many health benefits to us.

  •      Good for eye: It is recently reported by the research workers that apricot is highly beneficial for the proper maintenance of the ophthalmic growth of the human. It plays an important role in the prevention of the macular degradation which is a well-known dis-order of the human eye arose usually in the older age. Thus the apricot not only prevents anyone from the loss of the sight in their older age but also it has enough capability to strengthen the optic nerves. Being a reservoir of Vitamin A and Beta Carotene it has enough capability to prevent another major eye disorder which is known as Neovascular ARMD.
